Fastest in the Forest

Eventually, you make it to the finish line. [[But to your surprise...]]

You stand at the start line for what you believe will be the easiest race of your life. You chuckle at the idea of yourself, the fastest hare in the forest, being outrun by a tortoise. [[Get Ready]]

You wait a bit to give your opponent a head start. [[Wait]] [[Go!]]

You start running as fast as you can. [[Run forward. -> Run Forward]]

You run forward, following the road. There is nothing of interest to see here. [[Run Forward -> Run Forward Tree]]

You run forward, following the road. To your left you see a [[tree. -> Tree]] [[Run Forward -> Run Forward]]

You walk up to the tree and inspect it. It has a very comfortable looking hammock. [[Take a nap]] [[Leave]]

You continue running forward. The path is clear and there is nothing but clear road ahead of you. [[Run Forward More]]

You decide you have enough time to rest. You lay down on the hammock, and shut your eyes. [[Continue.]]

You leave the [[Tree]] alone. [[Leave -> Run Forward More]]

You continue to run. There is nothing of interest in sight. [[Continue Running]]

You are back on the road where you began. [[Run Forward More]]

You wake up suddenly, but you're not where you thought you were. You look around and see that everything surrounding you is white. There is nothing around you. [[Run]] [[Sit]]

You run forward in a panic. You are still surrounded by only white. [[Run]] [[Sit]]

You've given up. You can't find a way out. You take a seat where you are. [[Get up]] [[Stay seated]]

You stay seated in place. [[Get up]] [[Continue to sit]]

You stand up. [[Run]] [[Sit]]

You stay seated in place a while longer. [[Get up]] [[Continue to sit a bit longer]]

You're beginning to get tired. [[Get up]] [[Sleep]]

Having totally given up, you decide to sleep. [[Continue sleeping]]

You wake up! You are back on the hammock. "Was it all just a horrible dream?" you think to yourself. [[Take a nap]] [[Leave]]

You continue running. You pass by some cheering spectators. [[Keep going]]

While running, you notice a small [[Pond]] with a fishing rod. [[Keep running]]

You walk over to the pond. It's a nice little pond. The stillness of the shimmering blue water is disrupted by fish swimming around. You see a fishing rod leaning on a rock next to some bait. [[Go fishing]] [[Leave pond]]

You continue to run down the road. [[Run more]]

You pick up the rod. [[Put down the rod]] [[Put bait on the rod]]

You decide to leave the [[Pond]]. [[Return to road]]

You put the rod back down. You are standing at the edge of the [[Pond]] now.

You load some bait onto the rod. [[Cast your line]] [[Put down the rod]]

You cast the line out into the pond. [[Wait for a bite]] [[Put down the rod]]

You wait, but nothing is biting. [[Continue to wait for a bite]] [[Put down the rod]]

Something bites! [[Reel it in]]

It fights back when you start to reel it in! [[Continue reeling]] [[Give up]]

You reel faster. You've almost got it! [[Reel more]] [[Give up]]

You give up, and let the fish break free. [[Try again]] [[Put down the rod]]

You decide to try again. [[Put bait on the rod]] [[Put down the rod]]

You've got it! You just need to pull the fish up now! [[Pull up]] [[Give up]]

You caught a sizeable fish! [[Let it go]] [[Eat it]]

You decide to let it go back into the water. [[Go fishing]] [[Leave pond]]

You eat the fish. It tastes fishy. You probably should have cooked it first. [[Go fishing]] [[Leave pond]]

You return to where you left the road. The [[Pond]] is still visible. [[Keep running]]

You walk up to the tree and inspect it. It has a very comfortable looking hammock. [[Take a nap]] [[Leave]]

You see [[Drawings in the dirt]]. [[Continue forward]]

The drawing in the dirt has words. It says: "Why are you reading this during the middle of your race?". "How rude!" you say to yourself. [[Continue forward]]

You keep running until you reach the densest part of the forest. You're almost at the end, you just need to enter the deep woods. [[Wait before entering]] [[Enter woods]]

You wait a bit before entering the woods. [[Wait before entering]] [[Enter woods]]

You enter the dense woods. You don't know which way is out. [[Go forward]] [[Go left]] [[Go right]]

You run forward until you come across a small [[House]]. [[Go back]]

You run to the left as far as you can go. You are met with a wall of trees that you can't get past. [[Go back]]

You run until you come to a clearing. In the clearing is a single [[apple tree]]. [[Go back]]

You are back where you started. [[Go forward]] [[Go left]] [[Go right]]

You look at the tree. There is nothing special here. [[Go back]]

You enter the kitchen. There are plates and utensils scattered all over the floor. The [[fridge]] door is open. Return to the [[House]] entrance.

You enter the bedroom and are hit with the horrible smell. You look at the bed and see that it is covered in blood. There is a severed wolf head on the bedsheets. You decide it would be best to head back to the [[House]] entrance.

You enter the dark basement. It is really dusty. You see a [[door]]. Return to entrance of [[House]].

You enter the house. It is empty and covered in cobwebs. Something smells really, really bad. Where will you go? [[kitchen]] [[bedroom]] [[basement]]

You peek into the fridge. It is empty. You go back to the [[kitchen]].

The door is falling apart and has a sign that reads "DANGER: DO NOT OPEN" on it. [[Open the door.]] [[Leave it]]

Opening the door reveals a [[tunnel]].

You enter the tunnel and run through it. [[Run forward in tunnel]] Go back to [[basement]]

You continue to run forward through the tunnel. You see a [[light]]. Go back to [[basement]]

You continue towards the light. When you reach it, you find yourself outside at the other side of the forest. You see the [[finish line]].

You make a mad sprint for the finish line. [[GO FASTER]]

You won. You sure showed that tortoise who's the speediest animal in the forest!

You leave the door alone and return to the entrance of the [[basement]].

Tortoise was standing there. Waiting for you. "What took you so long?" they ask. [[What...]]

You lost the race.
